About
Yankari is one of Nigeria's most important protected areas and is particularly known for its wildlife and Wikki Warm Springs.
The reserve contains extensive savannah landscapes and supports populations of elephants, hippos, buffalo and other wildlife.
History & Conservation
Yankari was established as a game reserve in 1956 and later became part of Nigeria's national park system before being returned to Bauchi State management in 2006.
The reserve remains one of the country's most important destinations for wildlife tourism.
